Former LSU high jumper and long jumper JuVaughn Harrison, a U.S. Olympian who swept NCAA Division 1 indoor and outdoor titles in the men's high jump and long jump during his final collegiate season, captured the Bowerman Award in Orlando, Fla. Harrison became the first LSU male athlete to receive the honor after Sha'Carri Richardson earned recognition for the Tigers in 2019 and Kimberlyn Duncan was presented the award in 2012. Harrison joins fellow long jumpers Grant Holloway of Florida (2019), Jarrion Lawson of Arkansas (2016), Marquis Dendy of Florida (2015) and high jumper Derek Drouin of Indiana (2013) in being selected the top male collegiate track and field athlete.
